« Modes » des identités et formes de vie. De certaines déclinaisons de la notion de style
Résumé
In this paper, we aim to problematize the notion of style departing from a semiotic perspective, within the frame of a broader reflection on the identity. To this end, we will discuss first some varieties of the style as they appear in Marielle Macé's Style. Critique de nos formes de vie. She links the style to the notions of form of life, identity and individuation, according to particular traits of style, such as its perceptive nature, its ongoing dynamics, its potential on individuation, and so on. By discussing some of Macé's statements, we will try to show that a semiotic approach to the style means focusing on the activity of shaping forms and values. In particular, we will claim that the style can be conceived as the emerging side of the norms; the interweaving between styles et norms also intervenes in stabilizing or modifying identities and forms of life, on the condition that a practical scene be reintroduced. Thus, Jacques Fontanille's model of expression will allows us to identify better the moments and the levels where styles, norms and forms of life interact and affect each other.
